    This is a LCP pen and pencil in Amboyna Burl

          Very nice. On the second pen...is the bark cast in resin?

              I like the marbled look the 'Bark' gives but it is a pain to work with as there is lots of holes, voids and beetle tracks through the bark.

              I used lots of coffee grounds as a filler on this one.

              This pen was made up of 4 rings. The dark color is hard like wood and the light colored is soft.

              The soft stuff peels like those 'Peel & Sketch Charcoal Pencils' where
              you could grab the end and peel off the skin to reveal the charcoal.

                  No ... I cut 4 rings from the bark with a hole saw and then glued and trued the bark rings.

                  Used lots of coffee grounds as a filler and this pen was dipped 15 times in Lacquer using Ed Blysard's method and still not all the tiny voids were filled.
