    Lathe Chuck

I am thinking of taking advantage of the Rockler 25% off sale and have been wanting a chuck for my Jet mini.
The Oneway Talon looks good to me, anyone have any comments on it?

That is the one I use on the Jet mini and have been pleased with it. Wood Mag ran a test on several and they thought the Penn State one that is about $75 was also a good one, but it uses 2 tommy bars to tighten. If I wanted a second one, I think that would be one to try. I also got the other sets of jaws but not the Cole one.
    Good luck.

I recently began testing the Oneway Talon chuck for an upcoming review and so far am impressed with it. Very well made, good thinking behind the design, very good materials and machining.
My review is still a ways off in terms of publishing it, but if the Talon continues at all like it has so far, it's a winner.

The Oneway chucks are noted as being a very good chuck. They are supposed to have great holding power and it is made by a good company. The people that own them seem to have nothing but good things to say about them. One advantage is also the availability for accessory jaws so you really can’t go wrong in the purchase of this chuck.

Thanks for all of the info.

I want the chuck but don't realy need it at this time so it went on my wish list and I ordered the Wolverine sharpening jig instead. That, I realy need.

I have both the Wolverine jig and the Oneway Talon.... They are both outstanding investments. Amazing how much easier it is to turn details with sharp tools! And it's so simple to keep them sharp now. The Talon hold great and is a breeze to use with the single key.

            my 2 cents worth,

I have been free hand sharpening my tools and haven't been real happy with the results. I used the Wolverine jig in a sharpening class and liked it.
I'll go for the Talon after I sell another batch of pens.
