    WOOHOO!!!!

    the lathe is full operational!!!

turns out i was just being too timid with that rethreading-die for my lathe.
i gave it another go last night after filing away some more ,and got it threaded all the way on and off a few times..now ALL my chucks are working great, except the bottle-stopper one wich doest quite go all the way but still runs very true !
i made a little bottle stopper last night, took 4 tries on severeal pieces of scrap hardwoods for me to realize this scres just Aint gonna hold in any kinda end-grain,just strips out.so i cut some 2x4 crossways and that held great for a test.

also started a Pecan bowl with the 4-jaw chuck and screw-chuck insert for it.
Man that screw got stuck in there TIGHT,i had to flip it,chuck the bowl in the foot/v groove and turn out the screw plate, then drill off the waste!. i guess being green still it just glued itself on there,i didnt have and big catches.
im going to pickup a grinder to sharpen these tools and im guessing that i will not emerge from my shop again till work on moday [:-D]
now i;ve gotta get some pen kit bushings and probably some other kit type supplies.

thanks everyone for the help and info on this!
i'll be making lots of pics to share soon.

    Good for you Matthew!

I did not think that powermatic had square threads but I could not be totally sure so I just kept to myself. I'm sure that you're going to love that Lathe and use the crap out of it.

well not the completely square kind but they are a bit flat on top.that swhy i was afraid to go ahead with it, got a tip that it should be fine and it was
time to take it off the dolly! grinder works good but i think i;d liek to get wider wheels on it.they only had course wheels also.
