    lighthouse

I got my jet mini in August (my first lathe), and have been playing with it on and off ever since. I decided to do a bit of a different project for my mom's christmas present. So here is my lighthouse:

It is modeled after the lighthouse in Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. I'm not much of a painter, so I had to stick to a more "impressionistic" (read: kiddie) style for the parts that I had to do by hand.

Here are some more pictures I took during the project:

    Thanks for looking!

      Looks good to me Dave.

I'm sure it will be cherished for many years to come.

It also looks like the lighthouse at Tybee Island, Georgia.

Great looking lighthouse!!! Your mother will be pleased. For an easy painting job look up the East Quoddy Head Lighthouse on Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada.
