    natural,food safe crack-filler?

    hey guys'
i've been doing a lot more turning lately.
i am a member of some local raw-vegan food potlucks and am getting lots of interest for my bowls, goblets and plates etc(they want utensils too but i have only ever made salad tongs so far)

well as you know sometimes, "crack happens!" .... and i normally had jsut been filling with CA or 2-part epoxies... and yea i know many say most stuff is food-safe once fully "cured" but for these groups it MUST be organic, is there some natural option??? it would have to be non-animal product too...
all i can think of off the top of my head is Pine-pitch which was used as glue by native-americans for flutes and other things....but i dont really know how that would hold up to washing and food..or how practical that would be at all.

    so,
Any ideas? some kinda binder that i could also fill with stone, sawdust etc is fine too.

You might give the pine pitch a try. I tried to make a Christmas tree ornament from a cutoff from our White Pine Christmas tree we had 3 years ago. I can attest that it does not easily wash off with soap & water.
