    Second go-round with the lathe

Continued my new addicti...er...hobby today and made 4 more pens.

When I bought my lathe, I ordered a beginning pen making kit from Penn State Industries and they sent me enough kits and blanks to make 20 Rosewood and 20 Padauk pens or pencils. Anyway, I did three more rosewood today, then I cut, drilled and turned some scrap white oak for another.

My son inmmediately asked for the oak pen, so he has a new writing instrument to take to school.

    Here are the pics. Enjoy:

Looking good -- are you starting to put some "flare" in the body of the pens, particularily the left hand rosewood one or is it optical illusion from the figure of the wood?

Yeah, actually, I did. I am pretty pleased with the result.
