Nova Midi Chuck vs. PSI Mini Grip

Any opinions on either on of these chucks? I haven't heard many opinions on either one of these. I've heard good things about the PSI Barracuda; the Mini Grip appears to be a slightly scaled down version of this. Does anyone know if there is a screw chuck accessory to fit the Mini Grip?

I have the Nova Midi with 50mm and 25mm jaw sets. It's a great chuck for small bowls and boxes. I recently purchased a Barracuda CSC500 micro and am very pleased with it. The chuck comes with 3 jaw sets and a screw chuck. Very nice quality and runs true. I use these on a Jet 1220.

Nova Midi chuck vs. PSI Mini grip

Jking, I don't have either one of those chucks that you mentioned, but the info. I have read on some other turning sites gives the Nova a very good rating. I don't know too much about the PSI chuck, but it should be a good quality item based on the other stuff/ ratings that PSI sells.

I have a Woodriver scroll chuck that I bought from Woodcraft...it is a good unit, does the job as expected and can't be beaten for the price. I think that
too much hype is placed on other type chucks ex: one wrench vs. tommy bars, where they are manufactured, etc. etc. The most important thing is
will these chucks do the work you need from them? One thing that is more important than some other things is this...does it have threaded adapter
ex: 1"x 8tpi or will I have to buy other adapters? If I buy a bigger lathe
can I use this chuck on the new lathe or will I have to buy a new chuck to fit it? Some things to think about anyway.....eezlock
