Tool Handle Finish

I just got some unhandled from tools and was wondering what the best finish is for lathe tools.

I used mineral oil and bee's wax on mine but I'd think almost any finish OR even no finish would work on the tool handles.

I'm with DonHo I use mineral oil but skip the bee's wax.
