Need suggestions on inexpensive lathe for pen turning

    Yes, it did/does... I think most of the modern full-sized CM lathes utilize #2MT. Easiest way to find out is compare one of the centers from your lathe to a known #2MT. There may be a notation stamped right on the hardware.

      Lee, the other name you are trying to think of is "Turning Between Centers" maybe?

      This is what I've moved too also. For 7mm tubed pen, it requires custom bushings, but I get better results. Heck, I even drill on the lathe now too.

        Yep, it DOES have a pipe for a bed. I know it's a bad design, but I figured for $50 I can at least learn on it (hopefully). FWIW, it is bolted down to a pretty beefy table that is included. I haven't picked it up yet, so I don't have the model number.
