    BTW I tried Rockler's Gel Poly on some bowls and really like the results. Super-easy to apply (wipe on, wipe off) and needs two or three coats. But it doesn't look like you covered the would in plastic, a very natural looking finish.

      Here Here on the General Salad Bowl finish -- I've switched to it from Watco -- it seems to have a bit more varnish and it looks REALLY, REALLY good when it's buffed with the Beal buffing system...almost too glossy, folks who visit my booth think it's ceramic instead of wood.
