    Little walnut bowl

There is a little two man sawmill in Salina Oklahoma that I purchase Oklahoma native woods from (I have to beat Don (donho) up there for the good stuff ). I was up there a couple weekends ago getting some Pecan and that piece of Red Hawthorn burl... Was talking woodturning with the guys and telling them the kind of things I was looking for... they started digging through thier cutoff (burn) bin and gave me a whole stack of bowl blanks . This 6" Black Walnut is from one of the freebies (that they were going to burn!)

Nice to see you saved this from the flames. That looks nice.

That is beautiful work. If they all turn out like this one then you got a nice haul.

Would have been a shame to burn a piece of wood with a beautiful bowl hiding inside it!

Thanks everybody... I really like this design.... it's quick, simple and everyone seems to like it. It's even better when the wood is free
