    Care to guess?

    Can you guess what this is going to be?

    Give you a hint; it is made to match the furniture in my living room. If you are newer to this forum then I will say that I have made most of my furniture in the living room and it is all Black Walnut.

    Well, here it is installed;

    Did you get it?

    So I had to install a new ceiling fan and I guess I stood around thinking too much while I looked at the empty spot where the old one I had just removed was and that normally gets me into the “One thing leads to another” trouble. My wife went to a wedding so she has not seen it yet so we shall see if it stays or not. At least the new fan is hung and working well, for now.

      Slick idea, Ken! I thought it was the table for the pole on a floor lamp.

        I never would have guessed what you used it for. It looks great.

          I personally think you ought to make the fan blades to match! Let us know how well they balance out too!

          I have done what you did but not with a lathe. Cut mine with a jig saw, put an edge with edge moulding bit. Mine was not recessed like yours and yours does look far more professional than a painted base with routed edge.
