Thanks for keeping this Ken...great tutorial...I learned some things about the use of the captive ring tool and starting it on the outside first. I also had cut in 4 rings and sure enough 2 broke, so the more the better.

BTW great goblet.

So far, when I cut my rings free, there seems to be a little "rib" left on the inside of the ring. Do you have that problem or do they cut pretty clean? Maybe I just need to get my rings to a smaller diameter.........or a bigger ring tool

Steve - I tape a piece of sandpaper on/around the piece and when the ring is cut loose, you can hold the ring and let the lathe sand off the rib.

Yep I did the sandpaper thing too...figured I was doing something wrong with my ring tool.
