    Good turning books

I'm interested in getting started in turning anyone have any recommendations on which turning books I should look into to get a good overview. For now I'll mostly be looking at using a mini or midi lathe and turning pens and small pieces. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a link to some that I got when I first started. Videos by Bill Grumbine are also worth the money.

I started with a pretty basic book, "Learn to Turn", which gives info on lathes, turning tools, etc and how to set them up and care for them. It would be a good place to start if you haven't purchased your equipment yet. I later bought one of Raffan's books but I found that I learned more watching turning videos than from reading the books ( that may be just me though as I tend to learn better by watching than reading). I reccomend a basic book then a good video like Raffan's "Turning Wood" to get you off to a good start.
