Finish for stabilized cherry burl pen?

I am a novice when it comes to wood turning, and will be making my third pen utilizing a stabilized cherry burl blank. The first two pens were sanded to 2000, and finished with General Finishes' Seal-A-Cell/Arm-R-Seal along with a coat of Renaissance Wax. What are my options as far as a finish is concerned, or is it not necessary due to the wood being stabilized? Also, I do have access to a wood buff kit from Beall, but wouldn't it be difficult to hold such small pieces? Thanks in advance.

I would try taking it to 12,000 Micromesh and a coat of Ren wax and see how it looks before adding any additional finishes. Please post a pic when it's finished, Cherry burl is one of my favorites.

My digital camera is currently giving me problems so posting a picture is temporarily not a possibility. I decided to utilize the wood buff kit from Beall, and the pen has a nice rich glossy finish. The kit was purchased from Woodcraft, and can be seen in the following link. I thought it was rather unique, and ultimately would make a nice gift.

What kind of look are you going for? If you want a high gloss finish, I like to use 2-3 coats of CA glue sanded with Micromesh to 12,000 or wet/dry sandpaper, or try dipping a few coats of lacquer.
