    Turnings

Well, it happened. My BT, as well as most of the other stuff in my shop, has become a support system for my lathe.
I'd turned about 45 years ago and had forgotten how much I enjoyed it.
I haven't gotten into anything fancys like hollow forms or goblets yet; just practicing and getting comfortable with the tools again. Heck, when I turned last, the college Woodshop had a total of 6 different lathe tools, as I recall, so there is a learning curve, and a whole lotta money, involved here!
I thought I would post some of my stuff and get unbiased comments since LOML is soooooooooooo biased. In fact, the day we brought my Jet mini lathe home I showed her what turning was by grabbing a piece of pine and turning a 3" long spindle with various shapes and a 1" tall 'Monopoly' type game piece only to hear " OH, those are so cute, I want them! And she still has them! That's how biased she is!!!!!!
So, here they are, I hope you enjoy looking at them and, as always, comments are welcome.

They are all great but my favorite is the Brazian Cherry bowl, it's a beauty. Maybe your wife isn't so biased after all, maybe you're just "that" good

          Blame,
I agree with our comment. It didn't look so disproportionate when it was hanging on the chuck so I finished it before dismounting it. After it was on the bench, I realized wht I had done. I have rechucked two other bowls to modify them and ended up ruining both so I left the walnut one alone.

Not sure which I like better, the Cherry or the Walnut bowl. The Cherrry is beautiful, but I love the unique shape of the Walnut bowl!

I like the Walnut, but it does look like it could be a little tipsy.

                    Pat,
Thanks. That's the way I felt after seeing your last couple of bandsaw boxes. they're absolutely gorgeous. Who ever you made them for should treasure them as long as they live, then pass them down.
