well i had to take LOML to the doctor today so i got a day off from work not that i wanted it but she couldn't drive herself, so i used the rest of the day to get some wood for some future wood turning projects.
about a month ago the LOML wanted a walnut tree removed from the front yard so out came the chainsaw and within about 5 mins it was down.
and about 2 months ago i was heading down a back road and found a sugar maple about 18" to 20" around and 25' long , out came the chainsaw took me about 20 mins to just to fell the tree (man was it hard plus i had a dull chain) took the main trunk to the sawmill to set till fall then we'll saw it up into 2" stock the rest of the tree i cut up into 15' lengths and brought home to dry.
the other day i was asked by a neighbor if i wanted some fire wood, i of course said sure where is it he replied with, its in my north fence row and you have 60 days to get before the dozer shows up to clean so he can put up a new fence in it i found some ash, red elm, cedar, butternut, hedge, box elder, common elm (aka chinese elm),hackberry, small 2" autumn olive, and native plum all really good turning stock
here is 6 pics of some of it i've dragged home so far
can you id the pcs in the pics i'll post what is what tommorrow after 5 pm central time
