Micro Turning Chesel Set at Woodcraft $5

(posted this in Bargains, but thought some may see it faster here)

A buddy of mine was at the Springfield VA Woodcraft yesterday and says that they have the 5 piece micro turning tool set (in display box) for $5. Normally the set is $25 through PSI or $30 at woodcraft.

He's picking a set up for me today.

What brand set is this? Maybe it's just a clearance item at that store, maybe??? Can't find such a sale on their national site.

Our Woodcraft (Charlotte) had the Wilton 5 piece micro turning tool set (in display box) on sale last month (maybe still do) for $10.00. Took a look and was very unimpressed the grinds and shapes were horrible, the tools would have needed to be totaly rreshaped and reground. I really wasn't intrested anyway as I really see no point in these tiny tools and only use full size tools myself.

These are made by Wilton (not the "mini" set they have on the website with the redish handles)

Got mine yesterday. It was not in the sales flyer. Not the best, but for $5 they are fine.

Apprently a regional special, they are $20 at the Columbus one.
As for the grind, they looked ok. I've been put off on buying "cheap" tools, had too much trouble in the past.

As my buddy said, "The box is worth the $5."

It'll at least give me something to practice my grinding on.
