    Silver Poplar Pitcher

Curly Silver Maple with some spalting.
This piece came straight from the wood pile and was cut back in early summer, from the stump of the tree. This tree had a lot of ambrosia markings in it but this piece only had a few splotches, but top end was lying on the ground and started some nice spalting.
I was thinking of putting a handle on it but I'm undecided about doing that as I kind of like the simplicity of it as is. This was a fun form to turn and I plan to make some more of these and incorporating some handles on them soon!
    Measures 14 3/4 Tall X 6 3/4 wide.
    Buffed Antique oil finish.
    Critiques Welcomed!

      Nothing to critique, Jim.
      Beautiful, as usual.

nicely crafted piece - a job well done.

not sure what you had in mind as a handle, but I'll agree with you about keeping it simple.

Looking at that pitcher, a rope(jute, twine, hemp)/macrame' type of handling/pouring means might work well, as the piece still remains natural, simple, and balanced.

Handle or no handle, it's a beautiful pitcher.

Awesome piece Jim!! A great "wood pile" you have. In regard to the handle..maybe yes, maybe no..there is beauty in simplicity and I think you nailed it!
              Thanks for sharing!
