    Mini-turning set

Well, couldn't resist the $99 Wilton mini at Amazon.

Now I need a starter set of turning tools. A book may not be bad, either:-)

I'll probably start out with tool-handles and move to pens.

A very inexpensive, but very usable starter set is the HF 8pc set. Make sure it's HSS. The set is something like $30 or $40. It's been mentioned here plenty.

For books, I really like the Keith Rowley beginners book.

    Regards,
    Tom

I have that set (actually, the set with the dark handles). Is there a problem using those for something like pens?

Jake - I ordered that one also and then ordered the book that Tom recommended to figure out how to use it. I did some looking on the net and found this site which has quite a few how-to articles.

You may also want to drop by my site and take a look around in the turning section.
          You may find something useful.
