    Pot-pourri Bowls

A couple of Christmas presents, just off the lathe. The pierced lids and blanks were from my former colleague's workshop, collected at the same time as the pen kits, etc.

The first bowl is Ash, the second is Sycamore (complete with a map-like area of spalting).

They're both 150mm (6") diameter, 90mm (3.5") tall. Finish is Patina, followed by two coats of Bison wax.

Those sure are beautiful. Are those pierced lid something your mate made or bought? They are real nice at any rate.
I think you need another trip to the colonies. Specifically to South Georgia for a week or two. ****, I'll even try and learn to properly brew tea. Pat

He bought them, along with some clock movements, etc. I think they came from the "Turners' Retreat" store. Have a look about halfway down this page.

I'll have to see if I can find something like that with a little less expensive shipping Thanks Pat

Here is a link for the lids. I think you can also get them from PSI.

Those look really nice. I don't know if the proportions were dictated by the blanks you used, or by your eye. Either way I think the shape really accents the projects.

                    Very nice.
