    Pin cushions

I've been kind of out of the loop here for a while, but I've continued to be busy down in the shop... thought I post a few of what the LMOL has been requesting for her and her sewing buddies. The first is Pauduk.. the second is Marblewood (something our local Woodcraft just got in.. neat wood) and the third is spalted sycamore.

Great idea, Bill. Is the cushion attached?

Karen - These are a lot of fun and can be made with anything from a little piece up to 4 or 5 inches in diameter (I didn't post the cedar one I did that is about 5").

Don - My wife... the sewing nut, makes the little cushion parts out of scrap pieces of velvet and hot glues 'em in the wood parts. More Christmas presents

Those are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Ya know I could do at least the first one with a router and a circle cutting jig... Another great gift idea.

My daughter is a seamstress and just saw your photos...Guess what she just penciled in at the top of my in-housse To-Do list?
Great idea, nice job making them!

Yes, great idea! I like them all but really like that marblewood look and the captive ring. I have tried a couple of the captive rings, but with iffy results. More practice is in order I think.

Those are pretty cool, I really like the second. Is that a loose ring around the base?
