    My Second Christmas bowl/candy dish

This one while I don't think it turned out better, it at least has more detail. The earlier one and this one are for my sister and DIL. I have a feeling the best thing to do is to have my daughter wrap them and without knowing which bowl is which put the names on them.
Wood is quilted maple with a mahogany base. Finish is Mylands.

Pat, apparently no force of nature can quash the will of the determined woodworker! Nice job! This has more definition than the first one, but both turned out nice.

Thankyou gents. It's gonna take awhile but I'm determined to at least get to competent level. Pat

Nice job on this one as well! I like the detailed bottom. The base on this one seems darker (or prolly my work puter screen)....but gave me some ideas to use up some contrasting scraps for bases and tops, like goblets or the like. Looks like you are hooked for good! Your glue up...was with yellow glue? and how did you hollow it?

Titebond, under a box of 12 x 12 ceramic tile for 24 hours. This one I drilled the center out with a 1" bit and did the rest with a 3/8 bowl gouge. Most of this one was done with gouges, very little with scrapers. Got to learn to use them all. Pat

Nicely done. Beautiful choice of wood and color.

Both are nice, but I like the second one better. Good job!
