    My First Turning Attempt

These spindles were part of other work and was an excuse to buy a lathe. After some practice, made one sample from a picture and off that one made a template, and ran the rest. Seems like it took forever. They aren't perfect, but close enough to get paid. A copy lathe would have made it much easier.

    They look great!
By the way, if they WERE all perfedct, I think you might now be allowed around mere mortal folks like the rest of us.
Have fun with the new lathe.

When I saw who posted this with the title "My First Turning Attempt" I just knew the pic wouldn't show a pen or some other small item.

I was right of course, and of course they look great.

      Very nice work.

just remeber to be proud enough that they didn't come of the lathe a perfect square.

Actually, they like an experienced turner made them.

If they were 'perfect' they would look machine-made. They sure don't look like a first attempt, though. Nice job!
