question for the new PSI lathe owners.

I received my PSI turncrafter Pro lathe last week and just got it unpacked and set up yesterday. I received some parts that aren't shown on the parts list in the book(very elemental). I got pair of goggles ( I know what they are for but they are not listed). I also got 3 hex wrenches(3 different sizes) instead of the two shown and I also got a "handle/lever" of about 8" long with thread on one end and a knob on the other. I also got what maybe an extra handle for the workrest, about 4" long stainless, tapered with threads on the small end.
Did you get these "extras" and if so do you have a clue what they are for? Especially the long handle with the round knob?

    Thanks

I'm not sure about the hex wrenches. I tend to throw all of those in the same drawer, so I can find them when I need them.

The 8" piece with a plastic handle is for removing the drive spur. The Jet mini has a little hole to store this in and I couldn't find the equivalent for the PSI. I will be making something. Hold one hand loosely where the drive spur will fall out, while you put the non-handle side through the hole in the drive axle. Tap on the drive spur lightly and it will pop out.

My guess is that this is actually an arm off a small drill press. Since it is the right size for this, they just use these, instead of tooling up for a new tool production.

I'm trying to remember what came with mine, but I don't remember the stainless threaded piece. Does it have a taper that would fit the lathe to be used as a screw chuck? I just remember the drive spur extractor, some wrenches, live center, drive spur, and 4" face plate.

Don, I didn't remember the 4" long silver tapered piece with threads on it, because it was burried in 4" of Cherry shavings. I was cleaning up some things and found this in the bag with the extra belt. It is the knob for the tail stock wheel. So PSI does come with one.

Thanks Joe. I just went and checked and sure enough thats where it fits. It wasn't mentioned it the "instruction booklet" at all. I hadn't remembered seeing it in pictures of the lathe either. I just checked and most of the pictures of the TLC Pro don't show it but there is one picture (pg 57) in their latest catalog that shows the lathe with the extension bed and it shows the handle. I haven't turned anything yet but hope to in the next day or two, I just go the tools and I need to sharpen them and give it a go.

        Thanks again

Just figured out another feature of the lathe. The bar to knock out the drive spur also fits the hole in the drive to work as a torque bar. I learned this when I locked on the face plate attached to a 10" diameter 3/4" dish, by turning on the lathe without screwing it all the way in. Spinnnnn Thunk. Whoops, I'm gonna have fun getting THAT off. It was a little hard, even with the breaker bar.
