    First Segmented Turning

My first attempt at segmented turning. Happy with the way it came out, but now I think I know somethings I want to try on the next attempt. The diameter of the bowl is about 8 inches. Turned on my Jet mini, I am really jonesing for a new lathe. The top ring is poplar, next is cocobolo and cherry, the next segmented ring is zebrawood, then walnut with a cherry foot.

At first I was troubled in gluing up the cocobolo cherry ring, did know how to clamp it. So I grabbed a poplar board and glued the first segment of cherry to it and worked from there. Not sure if that is considered cheating or not , but it made life a whole lot easier.

( I may be a fair wood hacker, but I really need to work on my photography skills, but you know what it should look like)

That looks great, Bruce, Certainly doesn't look like a first.
Go get that new lathe for your birthday.

          That's what I was thinking!!!

Last year the LOML bought me the Delta 14" bandsaw, anxious to see what is wrapped up for me this year.
