    Some more Box Elder

The bowl which is my fifth bowl attempt, has some black mold in it, but there wasn’t anyway of getting around it.

Nice shapes! Seems with Box Elder one never quite knows what will come out of it color-wise.

I suppose the props may be a little over the top, if so you'll have to forgive me. I've been involved in amateur art of one kind or another most of my life, so the props were just out of habit. That old brush is in pretty bad shape, as well.

Thanks for the nice reply, Gerti. My post had been up there for a while with no comments, so I thought maybe I had crossed a line or something.

                  Fun Outlet

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I sort of fell into turning by accident, but it sure has become rewarding pastime. Someone gave an old lathe, someone else gave me an old Nova chuck, and finally a friend gave me the Box Elder Tree. The turning has taken on a life of its own. I’d been fooling around with woodworking for more than twenty years, but had never considered turning a thing until the last six months. It has blown me away as to how complicated and varied turning can be. I’m having a lot of fun, and that’s the important part.

You have discovered what folks around here call the 'slippery slope'... When turning gets you it GETS YOU. Been doing it for about 3 or so years now and having a blast.
