    Sharpening question

Hopefully I'll be receiving my lathe that's been on order for about a month soon. And as I understand it any new turning tools will need sharpening. I have an old 6" bench grinder (with white wheel) is that suitable for putting an edge on turning tools? 2nd question is, I've seen adds for a sanding disk that you attach to lathe that's used for sharpening. Would the disk on a belt/disk combo be suitable or would the speed be too fast as compared to the disk on the lathe?

I use a 120 grit belt on my Ryobi BD4600 to touch up my tools between sessions on the grinding wheel. It works great.

it's grinders are not not my prefered way to sharpen but as long as you are not burning up the edge you are ok. white wheels are the best for sharpening with a grinder. belts are better then disks for sharpening.
