I have the same drill Ken. I use it when I need to get into tight areas and so far has worked very well for me. I have had mine for a little over a year.

... it's a 'Grip' brand, I've never heard of it, but other stuff from overstock.com has been fine.....

Ken,
It's a "knock-off" of a Milwakee drill. I don't know about the quality but it's 1/4 to 1/5 th the price of an actual Milwakee and unless you are going to use it all the time I think it might be worth a try.
BTW; I picked up a Milwakee drill in ebay last year for $59.00 on a buy it now.
Like Mudder I found mine on Ebay for half the price that they sell around here. That knock off is about half of what I paid after shipping. They work great for sanding bowls.
so what pads are you guys using on it?, or making your own?
i'd gotten one of them round plastic discs fitted with foam and velcro. but i think the foam pad is way too dense, there hardly any 'give' to it to let it conform to the curves, ive avoided power sanding ever since i tried that one..
i have a flex shaft i chucked in my very nearby radial drill press adn it would work greet if only i find/make softer pads.
i would think some sorta custom/contoured thick pads, maybe various shapes(cone,ball,bowl,hockey-puck) and sizes/densities,made similar to the 3M-reusable sanding pads would be perfect, something like this would also be great for my flutes.. could have a central mandrel embedded like a sponge-brush for dishes?
any thoughts on how to make something like that? paper just doesnt conform well.
Ken, I got this one recommended by someone at this forum. I put a different grit on each wheel and it works awesome. The wheels are sold off of that same page somewhere else.
Hey Chuck, where da heck you been?
I believe that someone was me! ;>
I use that one for all my pens and spindle work, but for the interior of bowls I keep knocking the dang wheels off and then spend time trying to find the darn things. My little shop has several Black Holes that stuff gets sucked into.

Hi Ken, I thought it was you, That little tool is fantastic, absolutely. It went on my list of things you don't need but gotta have. Like the micropositioner for the saw. Some one should make a list of those kind of things. Another one is a dremel battery operated portable with all the accessories. disks, diamond grinding bits. and everything little that I can fit in that dremel portable box(most important being the adjustable collar, It gives me more room for little tools.

If the skipper heard you call that deck a floor he would throw you through that little round window
Hey, the angle sander arrived yesterday. Little fellow works great, and it's varable speed, which is a surprise. That is not mentioned on overstock or on the box. It's got good heft to it, feels like it'll last a long time.
Gotta go turn a bowl and put it through it's paces.
