    Something Realy New From Me

A couple days ago I mentioned that I had picked up a couple acrylic blanks at Woodcraft. I have never turned acrylic befor but gave it a try today. I much prefer the smell of wood when I am turning over the smell of plastic and the stuff does dull your tools in a hurry.
Here is todays result. The blank is Mother of Pearl and Black the magnifying glass is 2 1/2" dia.

It was fun but I think I enjoy turning wood much more, LOML loved it though.

I’m with you guys, I turned some acrylic and was not all that into it.

Still is very pretty piece though.

I have one more blank and I think that will be the last one. I just about gave up on this one but sat down and had a cup of coffee and decided that it wasn't going to beat me. Wet sanded through 12000 and then finished with MMM fiberglass color restorer/wax.

That is beautiful work. I haven't tried turning acrylic yet.
