    Woodcraft/Jet

I've got to make a comment on the forum about the service and support from my local Woodcraft store in Tulsa and Jet tools. I posted on here a few weeks ago about my motor on my Jet 1014 running backwards. I talked to Greg, the manager of our Tulsa Woodcraft, and he said it couldn't do that. I told him I'd bring the lathe in and let him see it for himself if he'd like. He laughed and said that wouldn't be neccesary. He looked up my purchase and noticed I still had three months left on my warranty; called Jet and explained to them what was going on. The Jet rep told him it couldn't run backwards. Greg told them I spend too much money with them to argue with, so the Jet rep suggested he charge me for the "extra" feature (jokingly of course). Long story short, my new motor arrived yesterday (I was expecting a 6 week wait). The Jet rep said to continue using the existing motor as long as it ran acceptably and didn't make odd noises or overheat.

Just wanted to share a good support experience, it seems most folks don't get enough of 'em.

Glad things worked out for you.
I have found that I might spend a bit more buying from Woodcraft but the customer support is worth it.

That is excellent customer support. Glad to hear they stand behind their tools.

Is it not great when a company backs up there product? I have had good luck with WHM tool group in the past. I had some issues with my Mini and they took care of it over the phone and sent me replacement parts.

I still think your problem is the centrifugal switch which is very easy to fix and you could have two motors.

Kenneth, now that I've got the other motor in hand, I'm going to go ahead and check the original one out and see if it's the centrifugal switch... I hope you are correct and I'll be able to "double" the life of my mini
