    I actually do turn occasionally

I got the opportunity to play on the lathe today... it's been a while. Traveling a lot for work and working on the house...

First is a box made from the wood that I picked up in Phoenix when I met Bill Meyers. We've both forgot what it was called, but is nice to turn. I'd also wanted to do a KW George style finial, so I made one from Honey Locust... I like the look

I received two cedar logs that were about 10' long and 12 to 15 inches in diameter. They had been in a barn for nearly 10 years! Got some of it cut and split and made this candle holder.

And last but not least, a little vase from a piece of Ash that was saved from a burn pile about a year ago. I left it outside with some other wood (i.e. not covered) and it started spalting... I like the bug holes too

Working on some book shelves that I should have done sometime soon... I'll get 'em posted when I get them done.

    Later y'all
    Bill (in OK)

Nice work. I especially like the candle holder. Maybe it's the way you did the rim instead of forcing it into a pure symetrical shape. Very nice.

Thanx all, I appreciate the input. I was supposed to be in a hotel in Denver right now... but my flight got canceled due to snow in Denver... so I'm back at the house and will attempt to fly out in the morning. I was going to post a pic of my paint roller buffer (thank you very much Scott, for posting that)... I had planned on getting the Beall 3 wheel buff system next paycheck... think I'll spend that on some threading jigs
