At least I got another day off!

With people still returning from the evacuation I got another day off from work and decided to just turn. I appear to have goblets on the mind right now.

This Goblet is made from Olive Wood it is 4.19” tall, .918” at its widest point, bowl wall thickness is .0515” and the stem is .108” at its thinnest.

The Captive Ring is .0955” thick with a .545” diameter. I used the collet chuck and a live center for support in making this. I also burnt a ring near the top as a little decoration.

Goblet is made from Butternut and it is 3.57” Wide, 4.13” tall, with a .097” bowl wall thickness. I burnt a ring below the bowl and just above the base as highlights.

This Butternut seemed particularly dry and tore very easily. I could not use any scraping at all to this was a real test of my gouges and cutting techniques. I appear to have Goblets on the mind right now.

    Thanks for having a look!

BTW, Dick where are all your turnings lately? I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

      Ken

      Beautiful work.

I haven't been able to get any shop time lately. It looks like I will have all day today and most of tomorrow though.
