    Goblet entry

    Made this one today for the AAW goblet contest going on over there. Here are the particulars;

    This Goblet is made from Boodwood. The other side is very deep red while this side pictured is orange and creams. This side to me had more figure and I liked it better. The wall thickness of the goblet bowl is .0985”. Its height is 5-3/4” and it is 2-9/16” at its widest point. The mouth opening is 1-5/8” and the stem is .155” at its thinnest. I was not sure this one was going to make it off the lathe as it had a lot of flex due to the thinness of the stem. It is finished with a cellulose sealer and Deft while still on the lathe.

          Sweet Ken. Less than a 1/10 of an inch? Impressive.

          A testament to your skill at handling a chisel, not to mention your sharpening skills.

          VERY nice,
          BobL.

            Thanks, I am glad you guys like it. When I saw the contest I decided to give it a go. This one is loosely patterned after a Crystal one I saw on a recent shopping trip with the wife.

            Jim; it’s a submit a picture kind of thing.
