More fruitwood

Today, I chucked up another piece of fruitwood (plum, this time) and although it looked promising, I was both pleased and surprised with how it came out:


It's 190mm (7.5") in diameter, 125mm (5") tall.


Finish is what is fast becoming my "standard" treatment, Danish oil followed by two coats of wax.

Pretty remarkable.

If it is anything like Manitoba Maple (Box Elder) you will want to keep the bowl out of much UV exposure, or that spectacular red tone is going to fade to a dullish brown.
