I made a trip to Woodcraft today, here is a new on

I saw this nice piece of Butternut and couldn't resist. Here is the result of a section of it getting caught in my lathe.

how long does something like that take to make? And how hard is it for someone who doesn't know what theire doing? I made a bat in Highschool like 15 years ago.

I learned to turn in jr high school in the early 50s. I hadn't touched a lathe untill about 2 years ago. The basics came back to me and from there on it was practice, practice, practice.

I don't watch the clock when I am turning so I have no idea how long the candle holder took me. The best I can say is I finished just befor LOML told me to start the BBQ for dinner.

If you have turned once you can get back into it, just be prepared to get addicted.

Another great piece Dick. Beautiful. Woodcraft should be paying you for posting pics of what you do with some of their wood. :~)
