My First Hollow Form

This is my first complete hollow form. I used my homemade captive hollowing rig and I’m very pleased with the results. I have been wanting to try these for a while now and decided it was time to try it out. I have 2 more ready to finish turn, and I can’t wait to work on the others!
It is Box Elder with curl and red flame and a few small sections of burl. This one has a little of everything in it.
The Finish is 5 thick coats of Deft lacquer, wet sanded to 2000 then hand waxed and polished.
It measures 7” tall X 6” at its widest point.

That HF has some really great color and curl in it and the style is very nice.

How bout a picture of the rig? Maybe a little explination of how you made it? I'm thinking of making one myself and I'd like to get as many ideas as I can.
