Ryobi RA 200 8 1/4" Radial Arm Saw : Need owners manual and operation

I previously owned a RA 200 and recently picked up another one. I actually was a Ryobi sales rep waaaay back when these were new and Lowes was the only place that sold Ryobi tools, LOL!
I can't remember which direction the lock lever has to move to release and rotate the saw head for rip cuts. The lever seem jammed and I don't want to force it.
I would also like a copy of the owners manual if anybody has one.
I know about the recall. I do a fair amount of remodeling and cabinet installs. I live in a condo and don't have room for a table saw and a miter saw in my storage.
I used and abused the last one I had.

Never did. I was the Admin for the old Ryobi Tool Forum and accumulated many of the old manuals and parts diagrams before the site was closed. I still have and use my BT3000 from 1993 though.

Do you by chance have the RA2500 manual, the 10" stationary RAS?

Thanks for the reply. I figured out why the lever wouldn't unlock!!! 😁 The previous owner had turned the blade assembly around 180 degrees to the other (wrong) side, which put the blade guard and blade in the way of the lever and wouldn't allow it to unlock.🤔

A lot of mis-informed RASf users I think. I have a 1973 Emerson-made Craftsman 10-inch RAS that I purchased brand new back then. It is my favorite stationary saw. A couple of years ago I purchased a used model from a friend of mine who said it was his late Father-in-law's.... what a mess it was, missing too many parts vital to safe operation (like the anti-kickback pawls, etc.), a flimsy 1/2-inch plywood top, and the character had been using it with the blade mounted backwards.

Good luck with your Ryobi RAS, and use it safely,

You might want to reconsider further use of that saw.

Is radial arm saw cuts better than a table saw?
which saw would you prefer to buy?
And yes, suggest some tools for bosch routertable.

Just to be clear, it was only the 8" models that were recalled, the 10" models were not recalled.

"better" is difficult to quantify. A radial arm saw is a good option for some things, a table saw is a good option for others.

Historically the table saw was used for rip cuts and the radial arm saw was used for cross cuts. At this point the SCMS has essentially replaced the radial arm saw in most shops. A radial arm saw can be very dangerous if misused, and unfortunately many people did not use them safely and they fell out of favor.

Radial arm saws currently available are mostly industrial tools, so big and expensive. Unless you can find an RA-2500 or want to refurb a GLB, there are not many home shop options.

For most people a table saw and an SCMS are likely the best option.
