Ryobi Circular Saw Dust Collection

I have two updates. First, the Sand Kleen hose does not fit the dust port of my tools. Not sure if I'll take it back or use an adapter just yet, planning a trip to the BORG tomorrow or Friday.

Second, I ordered the dust port for a Ryobi CS and drilled my Milwaukee to accept it. The fit is surprisingly close, but likely could use some silicon sealant for a good seal. I plan to try it without any sealant as soon as I resolve the hose issue. Meanwhile here is what it looks like sitting in the case:

This is very interesting. You'd think there would be more better adapters for CS. I had thought about making a dust port, but couldn't figure out how to get it to work with the blade guard. Would appreciate any info on how the Ryobi works in conjunction with the blade guard when you next post. I have also considered the clear plastic hose that HD has in the plumbing section. I just haven't had the fittings, time, or a helpful employee around when I'm thinking about it, but I believe they have inch and 1 1/8 ID hose that should work.

The best info I could provide here is that there is already a dust port on the saw ( you can see it here: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...CLZZZZZZZ_.jpg ). All I did is order the black dust port fitting from Ryobi CS and then cut off a little tab that is designed to fit inside the hole because it didn't fit well inside the hole on my Milwaukee. Then I drilled two holes in the Milwaukee to accept mounting screws (note the black fitting comes with 1 hole and 1 screw).

I will test it this weekend, having picked up a 1.5" shop vac hose from HD.

OK I tested this over the weekend by making crosscuts on 2x4 spruce lumber for framing and have the following information to report:[list=1][*]Wow! I expected it to be decent, but it far surpassed my expectations having not added anything other than in the pic above[*]I grabbed this kit at the BORG and to my elated surprise one end of the long hose has an adapter built in so it connects right to my existing shop vac: http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS...gll.0&MID=9876[*]The blade guard lever interferes with the dust port (see pic). The simple fix was to force the blade guard lever past the port and give up a little coverage, but I can still set the saw down with the blade moving and not worry about it cutting anything. The long term solution is that I'll probably add a small spacer so the blade guard lever clears the dust port.</ol id="1">~ Fred
