After finding a great ECE Primus Plane earlier in the year I had been keeping my eyes peeled for another. I just received this nice 704-P smoothing plane. It already cuts pretty well but I can't wait to sharpen up the blade and see how it works then. Having putzed with many a traditional plane (and still have a few waiting for rehab) I can not say what a pleasure it is to use these modern (relatively) wooden planes. The mechanism allows you to easily dial things in and make fine tuning adjustments without all the typical fiddling (and swearing). If you have a chance to try one or better still find one for sale at a reasonable price I cant recommend them enough.
