what the heck happened to Triton?

About a year ago - Triton routers and sanders were nearly ubiquitous.

They even showed up at the big Orange Box.

Now, HD says they're out, and Woodcraft and Rockler seem to have dropped them, as well.

    What the heck?

I did find a Triton router offered by Highland Woodworking - but that's just about it.

Is there a reason to pay as much money for Triton plunge router as it costs to buy Bosch kit with plunge and and fixed bases? Somehow I think Triton is not priced compatitively now, may be that is why stores are beginning to drop them?
