(I guess this qualifies for the Tool Talk forum)
I bought a new can of Johnson's Paste Wax "The Original Formula" at HD or Lowe's a few months ago. I opened it for the first time today. Surprize! It's different to any Johnson's Paste Wax that I have ever bought in the last sixty years. It's kinda green instead of the familar yellow/orange color. It is soft and squishy ... I can easily poke my finger into it. Anyone else notice a change? Or did I buy a reject can?
The can still says "The Original Formula"; the UPC is still 0 46500 00202 1; and it is still 16oz. The date code on the new can is KO54A1AJ. The date code on an old can that still has a little yellow/orange wax in it is A292CU. The outside of both cans (except for the date code) is identical.
I also noticed a little rust or rust-like pitting on the inside of the top of the new can.
The company web site(www.scjohnson.com) is down. Maybe lil green men from Mars took over the company!
Thanks,
- Lonnie
