Kobalt Double Drive Screwdriver

I (sorta) jokingly asked for one of these at Christmas. It got a little bit of work putting in batteries that day and I hadn't really had the opportunity to really use it. A hard drive failed on my secondary computer this week, and I got the chance to use it extensively swapping all sorts of drives.

I got the two driver set, and have been using the little one a lot this week. I must say I'm pleasantly impressed with how it worked for me this week and how it sped things up considerably. The big one might go out to the workshop and get used sparingly, but the little one is staying inside and I bet will be used constantly. This thing is perfect for those little screws or small places.

You can use it actually three ways

• regular - like a standard screwdriver
• ratchet - turn, reverse turn, turn
• Double ratchet

The last one is where you hold onto the little blue section and when you do the reverse turn, it continues to drive the screw cutting your time in at least half, if not slightly more.

I like it, it would certainly be worth $20 if I were buying.

I've seen these advertised and thought they looked impressive as far as function but wondered how solidly they are built and will they last long?

I got one for Christmas from LOML. Came as a set with a holster, smaller version, flex shaft, and a box of bits.

I used the larger driver when I was working in the laundry room and was fairly well impressed. The only thing I found negative was the double ratchet mode was a bit tight to operate. A drop or 2 of oil might solve that.

My Brother was going to get me one but found out she had already bought it. Almost wish he had. I would keep one in the tool box and the other in the Playpen.

She also gave me a 3/8" drive ratchet set that has a extendable shaft and a gear driven action by turning the handle as well as normal ratchet function. I haven't used it yet but can see it coming in handy in tight spaces.

Ended up using up a Lowes GC to buy the Kobalt Double Drive Ratchet after the holidays and it has been handy to have around the shop. It was especially handy when putting together some new stands and bases for some tools. Don't think this can be used for toughest jobs though. The set came with bits so it can double as an angled screw driver as well.

Identical product available at TSC,if you can't find one locally, won't say Kobalt but I believe the warrantys about the same on TSC line of workpro tools , http://www.tractorsupply.com/workpro...-piece-1037874, they had them at my store so I have one somewhere around here, might have to try it out 1 day, beats paying $6 shippin cost at Lowes
