HF decreasing Stock? 14in Bandsaw not offered.

There's two HF's local, and their in store stock can vary among each other, and the website. One still has a 14" floor model.

I was in the store at Galactic HQ this morning. There was a new model 14" bandsaw on display, SKU 68835. It's still not showing on the web site, though.

The new one is similar to the old one: four speeds, cast iron frame, cast wheels, etc. There were some differences: dust port located at the bottom of the bottom cover, new blade guide assemblies, slightly different stand (could it possibly be worse than the old one?), slightly smaller table, 2" dust port measured with a different ruler, sandy-gray paint scheme (similar in color to Jet).

FWIW - it seemed like the castings were all rough to the touch. There was a "sale prioce" of $299 on the floor model.

Then this new edition saw must have been in the works for a while as that manual was copyrighted in 2011.

Does anyone have any experience with this band saw in its new form? I am looking to purchase a band saw and am considering this, but wondering if I should go with the Grizzly instead. $80 shipping on the Grizzly though...

Id like to know this too, trading my ridgid as credit towards a metal lathe and will eventually need to replace it.
I always found the lack of a slower speed unfortunate becuase blades or work would get destroyed when cutting anything but wood.
And this one has 4 speeds.
Other than that, it doesn't look any better in fit and finish than the Ridgid.

From perusing the manual, looks okay- nothing super. Nice having multiple speeds, but adjusting the guide blocks looks pretty crude. There are no instructions re: adjusting the thrust bearings, but in the parts diagram there are set screws to fix the rods the bearings are mounted on. I think I'll stick with my Ridgid, despite single speed.
