    Devilbiss re-branded compressor recall

    My apologies if the was previously posted and I missed it.

    Letter came in the mail today from Sears, my Craftsman (one of the rebrands) is on the recall list. Something about the motor shroud and fire hazard. Other rebrands include Porter Cable, EX-CELL, and ProAir II. Recalled units are on the list at the link below.

    Yep, I got this on Friday and called the support number.

    Apparently the plastic-like shroud over the compressor/motor assembly is NOT fireproof and if the vent holes get plugged up with debris, it may well overheat and melt or perhaps catch fire.

    They will be sending new "shrouds" with instructions for replacement. It take ten days to three weeks I was told.
