    Dallas/Ft. Worth suppliers

    Dear forum members,

I'm heading to mega city metroplex on business and was wondering if there are any "must-see" woodworking supplies or hardwood suppliers around here. Would love to ship back some mesquite if its affordable (it's $20/bf) in LA.
    Please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Tom

I don't know of any must see places. There's a Woodcraft in Fort Worth right off of I-30, and a Rockler in Arlington (in between Fort Worth and Dallas). I prefer the Woodcraft store.

There's a guy on Craigslist that usually has big slabs advertized, and he's located in the Dallas arts district. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/mat/3234741723.html and http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/mat/3239195281.html
I've heard good things about these guys too: http://www.hlcdallas.com/

I ran across this place on craigslist http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/mat/3302861915.html I don't know how close they are. There's a few others too: http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/mat/3224416963.html (to the North in Denton)

If you make it to the Rockler store say hi to Wayne (My uncle) for me. I think he is still working there. What ever you do, don't start talking religion to him. He is a retired preacher, theology professor, and author. You won't ever get out of there.....
