Maybe in my lifetime...maybe not. Sounds incredible, and was likely to evolve sooner or later. Could be a great safety device. Hopefully the technology won't be mandated, and covered by patents, like that other thing.

Doesn't sound too incredible to me, but then I work with computers most days.

I wonder if this is going to be in the same price range of the Carve-Wright or other home hobbyist budget.

          Sort of neat... I guess!

But it leaves me asking whether we are "woodworkers" because we just like to have things built in our own shops; or, whether we actually like doing all these operations with our own skills, and in so doing actually build our skills?

But I suppose, it's really sort of like cutting "dovetails" (which I just did for the first time last week). One can have the skill and satisfaction of doing them by hand, or using a router and a jig!

The "jig" doesn't take the skill or patience that hand cutting might, but it is still a matter of skill to setup and execute. If this could be done through automation (computer-controlled and executed), then those "dovetailed" drawers would simply be another process. Though quick to get the job done, I'm not sure it would be as fun or fulfilling.
