    Woodmaster 725

    Does anyone have/use a woodmaster?
I have an opportunity to get a 25 inch woodmaster, with sander, gang rip setup, phenolic table extension and dust collector for what I feel is a decent 1500.00
He is not sure if the motors runs anymore, it is about 15 years old, and has been sitting for 3-4 years in a storage trailer but I imagine even if I have to get it rewound/replaced, that is a decent price.
Can any of you give me some insight on these machines?
    Thanks
    Tim

It's a great machine and very versatile. Once you get used to changeovers it's fairly easy. There's a good variety of knives available at Woodmaster. Many parts are interchangeable with Foley-Belsaw. You can have custom cutters made, along with counterbalancers.

It has a separate variable infeed speed motor that can slow down the feed rate where very little if any sanding may be needed. You can do multiple mouldings at the same time by just configuring a divided guide board.

IIRC, I bought mine used in the late 80's for $1K. Everything worked and there was a selection of knives, and sanding drums. If you have the space and the need, and can afford it, it's a nice machine to have if you use it.

I had to google it to see what you were talking about. WOW! Nice tool. I could almost get rid of several tools if I had one of those.
