Seems like the right number. I have never understood the prices that panel saws fetch.

The price is okay I think, but still a lot of money for the purpose. Unless of course you are doing a heckuva lot of panel cutting.

I've seen a plan or two for building your own, but even then I think you'd end up spending quite a few $ and of course "time is money".

I just use a "factory edge" and my cordless circular saw. But then again, panel cutting is only an occasional challenge for me.

Nice price on it and if you have room, might be quite useful.
Then if you have room, you may be able to break down sheet goods on the table saw.
It would not replace either the table saw or the circular saw, so not a necessary tool. It sure would be nice to have at times though.

From the pictures, that looks more like one of the kit ones. (build it yourself)

Shopnotes had plans for one years back, I am sure google might turn it up, if you want to compare building it yourself to this.
I looked at them years ago, when three different hardware store chains closed. There were lots around and they were averaging $600. After finding the Eurekazone system I decided I didn't have the space for the use. A sawboard would have done just the plywood aspect, but I found other aspects which made me go with what I chose.

the shopnotes version was probably superior to the one i linked in that it's saw carriage moved left and right rather than the material moving through the saw for rips. that means it wouldn't need 8' on either side for maximium utlity. since the linked unit isn't an oustanding deal, i'm passing on it.
