Happy Easter All.

I had a chance to use my new Ridgid table saw this weekend.

I had bought an Onsrud 50 tooth tk blade from Ebay, built a neat little folding outfeed table and a router table over the last few weeks in between family room remodel work.

I had to cut four doors and about eight feet of Walnut. I really liked the extra weight and bulk of the saw and have to admit I was very impressed with the cut quality of the Onsrud blade. I am at the point of carpet and trim in the remodel and looking forward to some time in the shop.

There's probably more folks than just me that would be interested in seeing the folding outfeed table.

I'll get some pics. It is pretty simple and just folds down to the back of the saw with a simple brace to support it when it is up. I didn't want to deal with seperate legs.

Here are some pics.








The router insert is made of two layers of MDF laminated and wrapped with 1 x pine.

The folding table is made with an MDF product that is laminated, it came out of a school during a remodel a frien was doing.
It is attached to the saw with a piece of angle 1 1/2x 2 1/2 bolted to the bottom of the fence rail. A piano hinge holds the table to the angle. I used a piece of angle on the leg of the saw and another on the bottom of the table and then notched a piece of 1 x 3 pine to stradle these to support the table in the open position. My floor has stress joints and if I don't have the saw in the same place I would have to re-level the legs on the outfeed table. The table is offset towards the right of the saw so I can store the rip fence in the brackets on the left when I put the saw away.

That'll work.

My knockdown outfeed table extends all the way to the end of my router insert. I like having the infeed support for the router table as I use it from the end. How does your router fence work?

Yep Knottscott it is real although I haven't had much time to play with it.

Erik, My original plan was to make the outfeed table the length of the saw with the router insert. My table that was on the Cman was like this. I decided that to make the table that large I would need more than one or two braces on the saw. In this manner I never have to worry about leveling the table to the saw if I set it over an expansion joint. I have a door from that I might make a removeable tabel similar to what I had on my Cman and what you use.

I have the HF fence that I used on my Cman but did not cut the slots in this insert yet, on a rare occasion but more than once the material could catch slightly on the slot. I am going to play around with the Ridgid fence. If it doesn't work well I will go back the other direction.
